Durham’s Admissions team have asked me to send out the following message to you regarding pre-sessional offers and Combined CAS:
Before an applicant can request their pre-sessional course in the portal, they must have already received an offer with a pre-sessional course as an offer condition. The condition is normally phrased as a choice of submitting an IELTS certificate at the level for entry, or offering a pre-sessional course of the appropriate duration, based on their current IELTS score
An applicant is only eligible for a Combined CAS (covering both the pre-sessional and Masters programme) if their ONLY condition is the pre-sessional course
Applicants who have yet to fulfil the full academic conditions of their offer are not eligible for a Combined CAS. It is likely that some applicants for the 10-week pre-sessional course will not be in possession of final transcripts/degree certificate. In such cases, applicants will receive a CAS to cover the pre-sessional course only. A CAS for the academic programme will be issued upon successful completion of the pre-sessional course
For pre-sessional only CAS the IELTS needs to be the UKVI-approved version, whereas for Combined CAS the IELTS does not have to be UKVI-approved.
对于仅涵盖pre-sessional的 CAS, 需要UKVI雅思， 联合CAS不需要UKVI雅思。
Admissions are aiming to issue a Combined CAS for all 5-week pre-sessional applicants, as by then applicants should have their final degree documents.
